BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in West Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari, has called upon the father of the junior doctor who was brutally raped and murdered at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital to announce a "Nabanna Abhiyan" (March to Nabanna) against the Mamata Banerjee-led state government.
Adhikari, in a public appeal, suggested that if the victim's father announces the campaign and demands Mamata Banerjee's resignation by the 24th or 25th of this month, the BJP and its supporters would take it upon themselves to execute the march. He assured that the victim's father, who is elderly, need not participate physically in the march but simply make the announcement.
"We have some political obstacles that prevent us from calling for such a campaign directly. However, if you announce it, we will handle everything. We will remove Mamata from power," Adhikari declared, emphasizing that the march would be conducted under the banner of the national flag.
The comments come in the wake of widespread outrage and protests following the shocking rape and murder of a 31-year-old doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The incident has sparked a political storm in West Bengal, with the opposition parties intensifying their demands for the Chief Minister's resignation.
